Donna Mills, CEO of Sharp Mission Park and Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Centers

As senior vice president and CEO of Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Centers, Donna J. Mills leads a staff of more than 1,700 employees who are dedicated to supporting the 400-physician multi-specialty medical group practice. Sharp Rees-Stealy is nationally known for superior clinical practices and registers more than 1 million visits annually at 18 locations throughout San Diego. A 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient, the Sharp system includes four acute-care hospitals, three specialty hospitals, two affiliated medical groups and a health plan.

Prior to joining Sharp Rees-Stealy in 1998, Mills developed the Sharp Mission Park Medical Group from a 10-physician partnership to a medical group of more than 60 physicians. In 1993, she managed the successful integration of Mission Park into Sharp HealthCare. In 2008, Mills spearheaded the efforts to transition Sharp Mission Park to a hospital association operating in northern San Diego County.

With two decades of executive-level experience in various health care delivery systems, Mills is an American College of Medical Practice executive, an MGMA Fellowship candidate and has been honored as one of the "Women Who Mean Business" in health care by the San Diego Business Journal. In 1997, she received the YWCA Tribute to Women of Industry Award. Mills also serves as a director on the YWCA board of San Diego and previously was the presiding officer for the Greater San Diego and Desert Cities chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
