Melissa Hayden-Cook is the president and chief executive officer of Sharp Health Plan. She has served in this capacity since 2005. She previously worked for Sharp HealthCare from 1994 to 2000 and served on the Sharp Health Plan Board of Directors for three years. Prior to joining Sharp Health Plan, Hayden-Cook spent a combined 12 years with HealthNet and Cigna, where she was responsible for managed care strategy, sales and management, revenue growth, product development and broker development.

Sharp Health Plan has been nationally recognized as a leader for developing innovative health insurance products. Sharp Health Plan has received more than $4 million in grants to support their efforts to insure the uninsured.
