Saturday my Dad and I went to the all-class picnic for Sweetwater High School alumni. Our class had quite a few people show up for the picnic and my Dad even met some alumni that he hadn't seen in years. My fellow classmates were happy to see me getting around with my new heart!
On Monday, several of my friends and I met two of our high school instructors for lunch. We had a great time talking about our cheerleading days and catching up on what everyone was doing now. We even made plans to meet again in December.
Wednesday was my 7th biopsy and I had another zero rejection! Kristi, my transplant coordinator, told me the biopsy showed less fluid around my heart. My next biopsy is scheduled for Sept. 8. Looks like everything is going right for me!
Thursday and Friday I spent time with my nieces and nephew. They are all getting ready to go back to school. They have been a big part of my life and I love spending quality time with them. I love hearing about all their adventures.
Saturday we were invited to a birthday party for my girlfriend's daughter. It was so much fun! The party was at her mom's beach house. What a great place for a party. My girlfriend, Valinda, had tiki torches, strings of lights, music, a fire ring, volleyball game and lots of delicious food to celebrate her daughter's 16th birthday. Larry and I mingled with friends and enjoyed the ocean atmosphere. It was a fun celebration.
It's hard to believe it's only been 2 1/2 months since my transplant. Look at how much I've done! WOW!!! Follow more of Debbie's heart transplant journey.
