Journal Entry 19: A Chargers' Victory

Oct. 21–Nov. 1, 2009

Wednesday, the 21st, I met several friends from Southwestern College at D'Lish for lunch. We had a great time and look forward to our next get together in 3 months! Gee ... where has this year gone? It will be 2010 in 3 months!

Saturday, the 24th, we went to see the play Peter Pan at the YAT Theatre in Spring Valley. My nephew, Nicholas Brammer, played the parts of Mr. Darling and Captain Hook He was fantastic as Captain Hook. I can't wait to see him in his next play.

Sunday, the 25th, we had our grandchildren over and had a wonderful time playing with them. I just love it when they say "don't want to go"! It's music to our ears! I love that I can interact with them and not just hold them in my lap. This was one of my biggest reasons for wanting a transplant so that I could do things with my grandchildren! I want them to have wonderful memories of being with their grandparents.

Tuesday, the 27th, I had another biopsy. I found out on Thursday that I got another "zero rejection"! However, my white blood count is really low and I have to see a specialist regarding this issue. I was referred to Dr. Fisher who will be seeing me in about two weeks.

Wednesday, the 28th, was the Halloween carnival at my niece's school. Because my white blood count was too low, I was advised to not go, especially with the H1N1 virus going around. Since I couldn't go, I dropped Larry off and he "dunked" my niece, Natalie, into the "dunk tank" for me! I have to protect my new heart, so whatever it takes I'll do it.

It's Friday, and tonight Larry and I are meeting some friends at Buster's. We had a wonderful time. The weather was absolutely beautiful tonight.

Saturday, my girlfriend and I had pedicures together! Sure was relaxing and felt good, too! We love Halloween night in our area. We have so many kids trick-or-treating. The costumes were so cute this year. We gave out 11 pounds of candy tonight!! Ran out of candy and turned out the lights around 8:30 pm.

Sunday, the Chargers vs. Raiders game! They honored my Dad on the field for being a season ticket holder for 50 years! It was a great game and the Chargers won!! YEAH!! I haven't been to a Chargers game for over 3 years. We had a big tailgate party with friends in the parking lot before the game. It was a blast and the energy at the stadium was exciting and fun. What a great weekend! Follow more of Debbie's heart transplant journey.
