Cancer Care Medical Directors

Sharp Chula Vista's Cancer Program has board-certified oncologists with specialized training and experience in medical, hematological, radiation and surgical oncology. Each specialty area offers highly experienced oncology nurses who help coordinate care, provide comprehensive education and support after discharge as needed.

Dr. Norton received her undergraduate degree and medical degree from Loma Linda University in Riverside, Calif. She completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

Dr. Norton is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematoloty and the Medical Oncologists of Southern California. Dr. Norton has also authored and co-authored numerous articles for publication and is a noted researcher on topics related to oncology.

Dr. Phillip Zentner, Medical Director, Radiation Oncology at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center

Dr. Zentner received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn. Dr. Zentner went on to complete his residency in radiation oncology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Zentner is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in radiation oncology and is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncologists and the American College of Radiology. Dr. Zentner has also authored numerous articles for publication related to radiation oncology.

Dr. Zentner builds a bond with his patients throughout their treatment process, "I see my patients as family and strive to give them the best care possible."
