Planetree Patient-Centered Hospital Designation
 In 2007, Sharp Coronado Hospital was honored as one of the first five hospitals nationwide to receive the Planetree Patient-Centered Hospital Designation. Press Ganey Summit Award
 Press Ganey Associates named Sharp Coronado Hospital’s Emergency Department a 2006 Summit Award Winner for sustaining the highest level of excellence in patient satisfaction. As the health care industry’s most coveted symbol of achievement, the prestigious annual award recognizes health care facilities that maintain in the top 5 percent of the Press Ganey database for at least three consecutive years. Sharp Coronado Hospital is one of just 61 organizations in the nation to receive this prestigious honor.

Spirit of Planetree Awards
 Planetree, a national organization dedicated to helping hospitals humanize, demystify and personalize the patient experience, recognized Sharp Coronado Hospital with five 2008 Spirit of Planetree Awards for the Wellness + Health + Safety Program, Evidence-Based Practice, Pet Therapy and more. In 2006, the hospital received Spirit of Planetree Program Awards for Healing Touch, long-term care and pet therapy. Marcia Hall, chief executive officer of Sharp Coronado, also won a Caregiver Award.

In 2005, the hospital received a Spirit of Planetree Program Award for complementary therapies.
