Our Programs

  • Acupuncture
    Acupuncture is based on the traditional Chinese medicine theory that people feel pain or illness when trauma, medication, stress or other conditions disrupt the body’s pattern of energy flow. Acupuncture focuses on correcting these imbalances of energy flow, using the insertion of ultra-fine needles into specific points on the body to restore health and improve overall function and well-being.   • Clinical Aromatherapy
    Clinical aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from herbal plants to stimulate the sense of smell. Clinical aromatherapy's calming effect helps to relax agitated patients prior to MRIs and during the hospital stay. Clinical aromatherapy is available through physician order and is offered to inpatients who may benefit from the healing benefits of essential oils.

  • Healing Touch
    Healing Touch therapy helps to restore balance and can alleviate pain and expedite the healing process. It is an essential way of communicating caring and is unfortunately often omitted from the clinical setting. This complementary healing technique relies on gentle, non-invasive touch to influence and support the human energy system. Healing Touch can help with pain control, anxiety reduction, wound healing, depression and immune system enhancement. Available for inpatients, outpatients and community members in one-hour sessions.      Sharp Coronado offers massage therapy for patients and the general public.
  • Massage Therapy
    Provided for inpatients, outpatients and the general public, massage therapy promotes health and well-being while also enhancing the body's own restorative powers. Massage can be beneficial for relieving stress, headaches and muscle strain as well as helpful in dealing with other more chronic conditions. Full-body massage, combining several techniques including hot stone massage, is available Monday through Friday in 50-minute appointments. To make an appointment, call 619-522-3729.
