Wellness for the Coronado Community

Sharp Coronado Hospital and the Coronado Hospital Foundation sponsor health education classes and lectures to the community on a variety of topics and screenings for skin, osteoporosis, stroke, prostate, blood pressure and hearing, as well as annual flu shots.

Community Events
Our community relations team hosts numerous physician seminars where members of the public can learn about important health topics and talk to board-certified doctors one-on-one. We also conduct regular screenings for common health problems and team with other local organizations to spread the word about wellness.

Green Grocer
Sharp Coronado Hospital's Food and Nutrition Services team has introduced a Green Grocer's market for members of the community. Every other Thursday from 11:30 am to 3 pm, the group sells fresh organic produce and meals-to-go, making it easy for the public to try new, healthy recipes.

Motion Center
The Motion Center at Sharp Coronado is a fitness facility open to both patients and community members. The fully equipped gym has weight lifting and cardio equipment, personal training, group fitness classes and specialized programs. Low-cost memberships are available.

Personalized Health and Fitness Plan
For people who want to customize their diet and exercise routine, we offer this personalized health and fitness plan. It begins with a 60-minute metabolic rate session, where participants breathe into a handheld device that measures oxygen consumption to determine metabolic rates at rest. Sharp Coronado dietitians analyze these results and talk to patients about their current eating habits and lifestyle, then design a weight and nutrition management plan perfectly suited to the participant. Its a great way to reach fitness goals faster.
