In addition to getting a flu shot, try these prevention tips to keep the flu or seasonal colds at bay:
-
Do not share food, utensils or other personally used items with others.
-
Hand washing is the best method of preventing infectious diseases. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently, especially if you are around others who are sick. When you’re not by a sink, use an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
-
Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth. Touching your face is an easy way for germs to spread.
-
Steer clear of people who are sick. If you are sick, stay home and avoid contact with others until you are feeling better.
