Community Donations Needed for Walkers, Wheelchairs, Canes

La Mesa, Calif. — The Thrift Korral seeks donations of walkers, wheelchairs, canes and other types of equipment designed for mobility assistance. The items will be provided to Sharp Grossmont Hospital patients, upon discharge, who lack the financial means to purchase them on their own. Each week, a hospital volunteer delivers the donated equipment to the hospital, where items are distributed to candidates based on need.

Equipment that is in good condition can be dropped off at the Thrift Korral, located at 8693A La Mesa Blvd., La Mesa, CA 91942. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:30 am to 4 pm. The Thrift Korral supports and is operated by the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary. For more information about donating merchandise, please call the Thrift Korral at 619-828-0095.
