Operating two gift shops and the Thrift Korral.
The Grossmont Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is the philanthropic arm of Sharp Grossmont Hospital's volunteer program. Since it was founded in 1952, the Auxiliary has donated nearly $3 million to benefit hospital patients and services. The organization, which is led by a volunteer board of directors, recently completed a $1 million pledge to Sharp Grossmont's Emergency and Critical Care Center, and is currently raising funds for the hospital's new robotic surgical system.
About the Thrift Korral
The Auxiliary operates the Thrift Korral, which sells new and gently used merchandise — including clothing, jewelry, housewares, books, collectibles and furniture — to benefit its projects on behalf of hospital patients and staff. The Thrift Korral is located at 8693-A La Mesa Blvd. in La Mesa and is open 9:30 am to 4 pm, Monday through Saturday.
Grossmont Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shops
The Auxiliary operates two hospital gift shops, one in the main lobby and one in the Women’s Center. All proceeds support the Auxiliary’s projects on behalf of hospital patients and staff. Both shops carry gifts, greeting cards, fresh flowers and snacks. Our Women’s Center shop also carries gifts for newborns.
The main lobby shop is open 8 am to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
The Women’s Center gift shop is open 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, and 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday.
