Volunteer Application Process

All applications are processed and reviewed prior to the following steps:

  • Attend a two-hour orientation
  • During orientation, schedule a 30-minute personal interview with the volunteer services staff to discuss placement options
  • Complete a TB test and health screening at Sharp Grossmont's  Employee and Occupational Health Department
  • Attend a two-hour new volunteer general training
  • Receive on-the-job training in your volunteer position

All Junior Volunteer applications are processed and reviewed prior to the following steps:

  • Candidates who submit a completed application, fulfill minimum requirements and submit the essay and counselor form will be scheduled for a 30 minute interview to discuss placement options
  • Attend a two-hour orientation with a parent or guardian
  • Complete a two-step TB test and health screening at Sharp Grossmont's Employee Occupational Health Department
  • Attend a two-and-a-half hour new volunteer general training
  • Receive on-the-job training in your volunteer position
