Ballroom and Latin dance classes will be available at Sharp Grossmont Hospital to wheelchair users in the community. In addition to physical benefits such as increased strength, endurance and range of motion, participants enjoy the opportunity to socialize within a fun, engaging environment.
Cha-cha, rumba and fox-trot are some of the dances taught. Wheelchair users of all ages are welcome to attend with or without dance partners.
The series of eight-week programs is free to participants, thanks to a grants from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
