Dr. Michael Halls, Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing, Sharp Grossmont Hospital
Dr. Michael Halls took an interest in breast reconstruction, hand surgery and microsurgery while living in Canada. He completed medical school at University of Western Ontario, Canada with Cum Laude honors and received three awards for his research and scholastic excellence.
Dr. Halls pursued a residency and fellowship in plastic surgery at University of Western Ontario. During his residency he received the Residents Research Prize for plastic surgery for three consecutive years. Furthermore, at Massachusetts General Hospital he completed a second residency in burns, as well as a second a clinical and research fellowship in hand and microsurgery. Over the years he has had numerous publications featured in medical journals and volumes of letter collections.
Board-certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Halls is the medical director of the Wound Healing Center at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, a position he has held for more than 10 years. Previously, he served as the medical director of the Wound Healing Center for Sharp Coronado Hospital and as the burn unit director for three years at Victoria Hospital in Canada.
In addition, Dr. Halls is vice chairman for the Surgery Supervisory Committee at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. He has participated in numerous lectures throughout North America, is the president and co-founder of Doctors Offering Charitable Services and has volunteered his support and time in Mexico.
