ACLS Instructor Class
The American Heart Association ACLS Instructor Class will allow the candidate to teach the initial ACLS Provider Course and the ACLS Renewal Course. The instructor candidate will develop proficiency in teaching, organizing and conducting a course. Through the use of course lesson maps, video and mega code stations, participants learn currently accepted principles of adult learning, the use of interactive teaching strategies and the ability to sequence instruction and evaluate student progress.
ACLS instructor candidates must have a firm working knowledge of ACLS material and have a scope of practice in ACLS. Prospective candidates would include physicians, registered nurses and paramedics. ACLS candidates will not be allowed to teach solo courses until they have demonstrated teaching competence to fill the role as course director.
Participants will receive a two-year American Heart Association ACLS Instructor Course Completion Card.
