Patients may show signs of deterioration up to eight hours prior to becoming unstable. Failure to recognize these signs can lead to increased morbidity and mortality.

This class is designed to give bedside nurses the tools to recognize these signs of early deterioration in acute care and critical care settings. The instructor will highlight collaborative practices between a rapid response team, nursing staff and physicians in taking take corrective action to increase the likelihood of a positive health outcome.

Presenter Information

Mark Munsey, the clinical lead for Sharp Memorial Hospital's rapid response team since January 2009, will teach this course. Munsey has been with Sharp HealthCare for 22 years, including 10 as the clinical lead for the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Parking Information

Parking is available on the street in front of the Knollwood Building or in the garage on Birmingham Drive. The entrance to the Birmingham parking garage requires an activated employee badge.
