The health benefits of knitting and crocheting are well documented. This free support group for cancer patients and their loved ones allows for relaxation, pain management and social contact. Knitting and crocheting can also help improve your dexterity, cognition and brain power.
All skill levels are welcome. Free instruction and supplies will be provided.

Park in the Visitor Parking Structure (No. 2).
Parking is free for visits under an hour. For one- to four-hour visits, the rate is $3. Fees beyond 4 hours are an additional $2 every 15 minutes with a maximum of $20 a day.
A multiday parking pass is available from the parking attendant for $15.
Linda Hutkin-Slade, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C, is a licensed clinical oncology social worker at Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Center for Cancer Treatment. She has an extensive background in programming for cancer patients and their loved ones.
If you have your own knitting or crocheting supplies, such as needles, hooks and yarn, please bring them with you to the group meeting. Otherwise, all materials will be supplied.
