NRP Provider Online Course Material

Fee: Free

This class is restricted to Sharp Grossmont Hospital employees only. If you do not work at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, please contact your supervisor for alternate educational options.

This Neonatal Resuscitation Program class for Sharp Grossmont employees uses an evidence-based approach to teach newborn resuscitation to health care professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants and respiratory care practitioners, who have no previous experience.

Completion of the program does not imply that an individual has the competence to perform neonatal resuscitation.

This class is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Health Association (AHA) International Guidelines for Emergency Cardiovascular Care of the Newborn.

Course Requirements:

All students must complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (8th Edition) online course material and online written examination prior to the date of their instructor-led event (in-person skills testing). The link to the NRP Learning Platform is now on SharpNET under the A-Z directory (search under 'N' for NRP). Please note that this course is no longer in the Sharp Learning Center.

After registering via this page, you will receive an email from noreply@nrplearningplatform.com by the end of the next business day (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays) with detailed instructions on how to create and validate your account on the NRP Learning Platform. Please follow the instructions in the email. We have also included a step-by-step guide to this process that will be emailed in a PDF document in a separate email from your registration confirmation from 82Sharp@sharp.com.

You must start the online course before you will be able to register for your in-person skills testing. Please note that there is a pretest/self-assessment that must be completed in the part 1 online course material before you will have access to the modules.

Participants will receive a two-year electronic course completion card (e-card) from the AAP after their instructor-led event (in-person skills testing).

Instructor-Led Testing Event Dates:

  • Fourth Thursdays of every month except November 2023 (3rd Thursday), Sharp Grossmont Women's Health Center, Conference Room 1 (Sharp Grossmont instructor)

Certain dates excluded. Actual dates and times will be listed in the NRP Learning Platform under NRP Instructor-Led Events.
