Sharp HospiceCare's second and newest hospice home, ParkView Home, located in Del Cerro, received its license from the California Department of Health Services and is accepting patients.
ParkView Home in Del Cerro is part of Sharp HospiceCare, which offers the only program of its kind in San Diego County for end-of-life care designed around patients and families. The program was established in 2001 with the opening of LakeView Home in La Mesa, which has cared for more than 1,000 families in San Diego. Overall, Sharp HospiceCare has provided comprehensive care to more than 25,000 individuals and their families.
At 3,200 square feet, ParkView Home provides patients with the combined comforts of home and the expertise of health professionals who specialize in end-of-life issues. The home’s spacious design is wheelchair accessible and offers four private patient bedrooms, as well as private patios, a living room, family room, gathering room and kitchen, as well as a nurses’ station. It also has a backyard retreat that provides patients with an ideal outdoor environment for simple family gatherings or meditative time alone.
The hospice homes are made possible through the generosity of supporters who have made contributions to the Homes for Hospice Campaign through Grossmont Hospital Foundation. Donors include grateful hospice patients and their families, community leaders and Sharp HealthCare employees and affiliated physicians participating in the Employee Giving and Guardian Angel programs.
