A New Way to Stay Connected to Your Baby in the NICU

A new way to stay connected to your baby in the NICU
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is providing another way for parents to connect with their babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The hospital recently installed NICVIEW — a secure, web-based system that allows parents to see their newborn anytime, anywhere.

A small camera attached to each NICU bed or incubator provides real-time viewing 24 hours a day, through a password-protected website. The video can also be accessed on mobile devices. To preserve patient confidentiality, authorized parents will have access to view only their baby’s bed. No video or patient information is stored.

The NICVIEW system is part of Sharp Mary Birch’s family-centered approach to care, keeping families connected even when parents have to be away from the NICU.
