Concierge Services
Our concierge services are located at the front desk in the main lobby. Upon arrival, our concierge staff will check you in, assist you with locating patient rooms and provide hospital information and services. They will also assist you with parking, transportation and dining information, meal vouchers, courier services and information on shopping and business services.
Dining
Located on the first floor lobby level of Sharp Memorial Hospital, the campus cafeteria is open seven days a week from 6:15 am to 3 am.
Sweet Labors Coffee Cart is located in front of Sharp Mary Birch and is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 7 pm and Saturday from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Guest meal vouchers allow visitors to order meals with the patient from the in-room menu for delivery directly to the patient’s room. Meal vouchers can be purchased in any quantity for $5 each (cash or check only) at the concierge desk on the first floor of Sharp Mary Birch from 7 am to 7 pm. Snacks and beverages are available 24 hours a day on the third floor of Sharp Mary Birch.
Internet Access
Wireless Internet access is available in visitor lobbies and patient rooms. A public computer terminal with Internet access is located in the New Beginnings Boutique and is available:
Monday through Friday, 9 am to 7 pm
Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm
Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm
New Beginnings Boutique
Designed to meet the needs of women before, during and after pregnancy, the New Beginnings Boutique provides a complete line of nursing bras, breast pumps for sale and rent, baby slings, nursing pillows and covers, swaddling blankets, specialty books and so much more.
Located on the hospital’s first floor, the store is open:

Please use the parking structure located on Health Center Drive in front of Sharp Mary Birch.
- The first hour is free — no validation is needed
- Parking is free when wearing a patient wristband
- $3 per day with validation (available at the lobby information desk)
- $20 per day without validation
- $15 monthly parking pass (can be purchased from the Health Center Drive parking garage attendant)

Spiritual Care
The Interfaith Chapel, located on the first floor of Sharp Memorial Hospital, is open 24 hours a day. For information on our spiritual care services, call 858-939-3475 during business hours, or the hospital operator at 858-939-3400 after hours.
Using the Telephone
- Dial “0” anytime for the hospital operator.
- For long distance calls, you may dial “9” and then “0” for an outside operator, or use a calling card by first dialing “9”.
- If making a call within the hospital, dial the four digit extension.
- Local calls (area code 858) can be made by dialing “9” for an outside line, then the phone number. Area codes 619 and 760 are also considered local calls and can be accessed by dialing “9”+”1”+area code+phone number.
- Phone use in patient rooms is allowed unless otherwise directed by a nurse.
- Please use the guest lounge or lobby areas to make personal calls.
Visitation Hours and Information
To reach a patient room, call 858-939-3400 and ask for the patient by name or room number.
The father, co-parent or support person (age 18 and over) may stay with the patient 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are preparing for an overnight hospital stay with a patient, find out who can stay, what to expect and some of the features available for overnight guests. Children are not allowed to stay overnight.
Family and friends over the age of one year may visit from 7 am to 10 pm. Special visitation guidelines for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Perinatal Special Care Unit are available from the patient’s nurse.
You are encouraged to help keep patients and infants safe by:
- Asking staff how you can help prevent patient falls
- Not bringing latex balloons into the facility (latex-free balloons are available in the New Beginnings Boutique)
- Not visiting if you have a cold or the flu
- Read about the recent pertussis (whooping cough) outbreak and what you can do to stay safe and healthy
- Washing your hands before entering the patient’s room and before touching a baby
