  • High-Risk Pregnancy Care (Perinatal Special Care Unit)
    The Perinatal Special Care Unit at Sharp Mary Birch is designated for San Diego women who have premature labor, or whose pregnancies have been complicated by conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

    Sharp Mary Birch provides quality care to pregnant women and their families from pre-birth testing through labor, delivery and recovery.
  • Maternal Infant Services Unit
    The Maternal Infant Services (MIS) Unit at Sharp Mary Birch provides care for women after the delivery of their babies. We monitor the mother's and baby’s physical recoveries and provide education and practice in caring for a new baby.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
    Our 84-bed level III NICU is one of the largest of its kind in Southern California and ranks among the top four in the nation for NICU infection prevention.

    At the New Beginnings Boutique and Gift Shop you can find specialty products and services, including breast pumps, newborn and preemie clothing, nursing bras and more. Our knowledgeable staff of lactation educators are also available to assist you.
  • Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation Services
    Pre-Admission Evaluation Services (PAES) will prepare you for your surgical procedure, ensuring your safety and peace of mind throughout your surgical experience.
  • Robotic Gynecologic Surgery
    Our affiliated physicians perform more robotic gynecologic surgeries than any other hospital in San Diego. Sharp Mary Birch offers robotic surgery for hysterectomy, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, vaginal prolapse and more.
