New Sharp Baby Mobile App Launched for Moms-to-Be
All-in-one pregnancy resource provides instant information and tools at patients' fingertips.
Sharp HealthCare recently launched a new customized mobile app for expectant moms called Sharp Baby. Busy moms-to-be now have access to on-demand information to guide them through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum care, as well as a range of other information and interactive features. The free app was created for the growing number of patients who are consuming health information from their mobile devices, particularly savvy millennial parents, who desire the convenience, speed and ease of a mobile app.
"Having a baby is a major milestone in a women's life and millennial moms want access to information that ensures a healthy outcome and in a manner that makes her life easier," said Lily Pisegna, director of women's and infants' services at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. "Sharp Baby is an engaging, easy tool to stay connected during pregnancy and offers interactive features printed materials alone can't provide."
The app includes functionality such as: animations and video; weekly milestone notifications; tailored content for each week of pregnancy; trackers for appointments, weight management, contractions and immunizations; an interface to share experiences through a personal journal with social media integration; and other features designed to provide an efficient and rewarding user experience.
In addition, links are provided so patients can easily sign up for classes and support groups, find maternity admission forms, view packing list suggestions and access other resources.
The app is available for both Apple and Android devices by searching "Sharp Baby" through the App Store or Google Play. The idea for the app was inspired by feedback from an internal parent focus group and is expected to improve patient satisfaction scores and the overall patient experience.
