Looking up health information on your own can be overwhelming. Our professional health librarians can help you check out books, CDs and videos or look up health information in our extensive catalog of medical journals — ranging in topics from cancer to nutrition to alternative medicine.

The Cushman Wellness Center Community Health Library and its services are available to patients, families and anyone in the community.

Other Services We Provide

  • Anatomical models of the human torso, heart, eye and kidney – our librarians can explain these models, which can be easily assembled and are a favorite of visiting families 
  • Free Music Service during your visit or procedure at the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion
  • Health-related gifts such as jewelry, hats, stuffed animals, healthy snacks, books and more in our Health Shoppe
  • Health videos, books and CDs available for borrowing, including some for monthlong checkouts
  • Register for various free classes and seminars

How to Borrow Items From the Library
All books, CDs and videos are available for a 30-day checkout or may be used while receiving treatment at the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion. Call us at 858-939-5030 or send us an email to request an item for checkout.

For patients staying at Sharp Memorial Hospital or receiving treatment at the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion, our health ambassadors can help you look up health information or check out items from the library and deliver them to your room.
