Volunteer Opportunities

The Sharp Memorial Hospital volunteer office provides opportunities at all our facilities located in Serra Mesa, adjacent to Kearny Mesa off Highway 163. When accepted into our volunteer program, you will be joining scores of individuals of all ages who are dedicated to giving back to our community. Our program does not accommodate court-ordered community service volunteerism.

Requirements

Volunteers must meet the following requirements: 

• Commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service, usually completed over 6 months
• Commit to volunteering one shift of four hours per week
• 18 years old or older for adult program; or in 9th to 12th grades for junior program
• In good health
• Purchase $20 volunteer uniform

How to Apply for the Adult Program

If a placement is possible, you will be notified of our next orientation within 30 days of receipt of your application.
