Clinical Trials Covering a Wide Range of Mental Health Conditions
Sharp HealthCare's Behavioral Health Services, the premier provider of mental health and recovery programs in San Diego County, conducts ongoing clinical research trials covering a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including:
- Alzheimer's disease
- Depression
- Manic depressive (bipolar) disorder
- Schizophrenia
Participating in clinical research can provide many benefits, including:
- Ability to help others
Participants will have a chance to potentially help others and improve treatment for everyone who suffers from the same illness or condition.
- Access to new medications
Research participants often are the first to receive promising new medications before they become available to the community.
- Low cost or no cost care
Since research is funded by the pharmaceutical industry, there is no cost to patients for care received through Sharp's Clinical Research Program. Participants receive study-related medical evaluations, lab testing and study medications and will be compensated for time and travel.
- Quality care
Patients taking part in studies receive quality medical care from a team of expert doctors, nurses, technicians and support staff.
