For troubled young people and their families

Children and adolescents experiencing severe problems need support, direction, treatment and compassionate care. These problems can be overwhelming for parents and loved ones, and sometimes it's hard to know where to turn. Sharp Mesa Vista's child and adolescent programs are carefully designed to offer treatment and guidance to troubled young people and their families. Services include classroom education with accredited teachers from San Diego City schools.

Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital offers a complete and comprehensive continuum of care for children and teens, including:

  • Adolescent Programming
    Treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17 with emotional or behavioral problems, school problems, family problems, alcohol and substance abuse, or eating disorders.
  • "Changes" Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program
    Comprehensive treatment to help adolescents and families deal with problems related to developing and maintaining a sober and drug-free lifestyle.
  • Children's Programming
    Treatment for children ages 6 to 12 with significant behavioral and emotional problems.
  • Partial Hospitalization
    Provides continuity of care following inpatient services and used as an alternative to hospitalization.
  • Young Winners Program
    Chemical dependency treatment services to help adolescents develop positive behavior.
