The nearest ATM is located in the lobby of Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, north of Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital.

Concierge Services
6 am to 10 pm
Located in the Main Lobby, our concierge staff is dedicated to making your visit more comfortable. Our concierge can assist you with hospital information, campus transportation and business services.

Dining
The cafeteria, located on Level 1 of Sharp Memorial Hospital, is open seven days a week as follows:
Lunch: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
Afternoon Snack: 2 to 3 pm
Dinner: 4:30 to 5:30 pm

Vending machines are located outside the cafeteria. The Java Cart, located outside of the main entrance of Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, is open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4:30 pm and serves coffee and snacks.

Gardens
The Don Allen Garden, located within one of the middle courtyards of the Sharp Mesa Vista main building, is designed for meditation and quiet reflection. Additionally, patients in the Child and Adolescent Building and their families are invited to use the Garden of Recovery and play area located just behind the building. These and other designated outdoor spaces are available to you and your loved ones. Please speak with your nurse to gain access.

Gift Shop
The Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital Gift Shop is located in the Main Lobby and offers greeting cards, candy, gifts, books and much more. Proceeds support programs and special amenities for our patients.

The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. Saturday and Sunday hours depend on volunteer availability. For more information, please call 858-836-8400, or 8400 when dialing within the hospital.

Parking
Patients and visitors may park in the lot located outside of the hospital main entrance, off Vista Hill Avenue. Additional parking is available in the parking garage located on Health Center Drive, adjacent to Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns.

Parking validation is available at the Concierge Desk. There is no charge for parking for less than 60 minutes.
With validation — $1 per day
Without validation — $5 per day

There are shuttles that run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well for patient or visitor convenience.

Smoking
Consistent with our mission and health care responsibility to our patients, guests and staff, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital maintains a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited in the hospital and on the grounds, including parking lots. Hospitalized patients who smoke are offered a smoking cessation program.

Spiritual Care
Interfaith chaplains are available to help you and your loved ones with your spiritual care needs, as well as assist with sacramental ministries. Your nurse or social worker can arrange for a chaplain to visit.

Visiting Hours and Information
Visiting hours are daily from 11:30 am to 8 pm. To ensure patients' therapy sessions are not disrupted, we request that visitors call or check with the unit before their arrival. Visitors are encouraged to spend meal times with their loved one. Please inquire about meal times when you call the unit. Meals can be purchased in the cafeteria. At this time the cafeteria only accepts cash purchases.

We strive to keep our guest policy as flexible as possible while ensuring that a safe environment is maintained for our patients, guests and staff. Whenever possible, we honor our patients' wishes regarding guests. There may be circumstances where it is necessary for you to leave the nursing unit, but you will be informed of the reason and given a time to return.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind while visiting:

  • Avoid bringing personal items into the hospital
  • For the comfort of you and your loved ones, we will recommend the best location for your visit
  • For the safety and privacy of our patients, we ask you not to bring the following items into the facility:
    • Cameras or recorders
    • Cell phones
    • Cigarettes, lighters, matches, alcohol or drugs, including medications 
    • Laptop computers
    • Weapons 
  • Guests must be appropriately dressed, including a shirt and shoes, and free of signs of illness, drug influence and intoxication
  • Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
  • If you are visiting a patient under 18, we will ask to see photo identification

For the safety of our patients and guests, hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the hospital. Please clean your hands before and after visiting a patient. In addition, if you have illness symptoms such as fever, coughing or sneezing, please refrain from visiting.
