For more than 40 years, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital has been a center of excellence, providing diagnosis, management and treatment of mental health and addictive disorders to the San Diego community. Its 149-bed hospital has served over 100,000 individuals and is the largest privately operated psychiatric hospital and the premier provider of psychiatric and chemical dependency services in San Diego County.

Main Hospital Visiting Hours

ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
Monday through Sunday, 7 to 8 pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 10 to 11 am, 7 to 8 pm

Visitors under the age of 18 must be approved by a physician or nurse.

OAP (Older Adult Program)
Monday through Friday, 5 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 3:30 to 8:30 pm

Visitors under the age of 12 must be approved by a physician or nurse. No more than 3 visitors at a time.

East 1/ITP (Intensive Treatment Program)
Monday through Friday, 7 to 8 pm
Wednesday, 1 to 2 pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 1 to 2:30 pm, and 7 to 8 pm

Visitors under age 18 must be approved by a physician or nurse (if not the patient’s child).

East 2 COG/Open Adult (Cognitive Therapy and Adult Psychiatric Unit)
Monday through Friday, 7 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 3:30 to 8:30 pm

CAP II (Intensive Treatment Program)
Monday through Sunday, 7 to 8 pm

Up to four visitors can visit at one time. Visitors under age 18 must have an adult accompany them.

CAP III (Child/Adolescent Program)
Monday through Sunday, 7 to 8 pm

Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by the patient’s parent or guardian. Visitors under the age of 5 generally not permitted (see charge nurse).

Chemical Dependency Treatment
Monday through Friday, 7 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 3:30 to 8:30 pm

On Thursdays, visitors are invited to arrive at 5 pm to have dinner with their loved ones prior to Family Group.

Main Gift Shop Hours
Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm
Saturday through Sunday, open depending on volunteer availability
