Sharp Mesa Vista’s Older Adult Services program is designed to address specific issues that seniors face, including depression, anxiety or other mental health problems. Additionally, we offer specialized care to help with personal issues relating to retirement, loss of a loved one or changing roles within the family. In each instance of patient care, our geriatric medicine team creates an accepting and warm approach to treatment that provides a comfortable and welcoming place to heal.

Programs and Services
Sharp Mesa Vista offers both inpatient and outpatient senior treatment programs.

  • Inpatient Programs
    The Older Adult Inpatient Program is designed specifically for adults age 60 and older and is staffed by a multidisciplinary treatment team, which specializes in working with geriatric medicine. We treat a variety of issues, including:
  • Dementia (confusion, memory loss and disorientation)
  • Mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, seasonal affective disorder)
  • Other severe mental health issues
  • Outpatient Programs
    The Senior Intensive Outpatient Program is designed specifically for adults age 60 and older and helps older adults with issues such as addiction, anxiety, bipolar disorder and depression. Patients in this program will:
  • Cope in a healthy way with changes in health, transitions and losses
  • Develop a routine of enjoyable activities that supports and improves their quality of life
  • Learn skills to help understand and change unhealthy thoughts
  • Maximize communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Use relaxation techniques to manage anxiety and improve sleep

Our Team
The dedication and success of our Older Adult Services can be credited to the training, experience and quality of the staff. Specially trained to work with senior patients, the team includes a geropsychologist with a PhD in clinical health psychology and a licensed medical physician specialist in geriatric psychiatry and addictions medicine.
