Health Tip: Savor a Healthier Sandwich
(HealthDay News) -- Making a delicious, healthy sandwich is a great way to bring more nutrients into your meals without sacrificing taste.
The University of Rochester Medical Center suggests how to create a healthier sandwich:
Make a grilled cheese with tomato sandwich, or make a Philly steak sandwich with grilled tomatoes, onions, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and cheese.
Substitute Portobello mushrooms for meat and top with sundried tomatoes, spinach, olives, roasted red peppers and feta cheese.
Add fruit to tuna or turkey salad sandwiches, mix chopped oranges with celery in light cream cheese and spread on raisin bread, or make a peanut butter and banana sandwich.
