(HealthDay News) -- When tendinitis affects the foot, even walking can become difficult.

The American Podiatric Medical Association says tendon inflammation can affect the foot due to:

  • An injury.

  • Overuse.

  • Failure to properly stretch before an activity.

  • Exercising without proper form.

  • Having risk factors for tendinitis, such as flat feet, tight tendons or arthritis.
