Nutrition Services Locations

Sharp's nutrition programs are available at the following locations.

Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and Sharp Coronado Hospital
In response to the need to continuously improve quality of care and provide current research-based nutrition support, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center developed a nutrition support team in 2000. The team is lead by a nephrologist and surgeon and incorporates the nutrition and medical expertise of dietitians and pharmacists to ensure that nutrition support is appropriately and safely administered in a timely manner. The team has expanded to include service to Sharp Coronado Hospital. The Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Program is also available at these two locations.

Sharp Memorial Hospital
Since 1991, Sharp Memorial Hospital has run the longest-running nutrition support service in the San Diego area, recognizing the benefit of appropriate nutrition support as well as its pitfalls and limitations. The team includes representatives from clinical nutrition, pharmacy and nursing, and has shown tremendous success in properly selecting and managing the nutrition support of patients. The service provides expertise regarding all forms of nutrition support with special emphasis on metabolic management, and has made major improvements in the nutritional care of hospital patients. Service and treatment administered by this experienced team includes nutrition support as needed at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns. The Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Program is also available at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
