- Why Choose Sharp?
The Sharp Occupational Health Program is one of the region’s most comprehensive injury prevention and rehabilitation services programs.
Our team of experts includes occupational medicine physicians, physical therapists, upper extremity rehabilitation specialists and occupational performance center specialists who help each patient gain the physical capacity to return to work and meet the demands of the patient's specific job.
Our goal is to maximize the health of your workforce while minimizing the medical and disability costs associated with workers’ compensation claims. From the onset of treatment, we place a strong emphasis on return to work and continuity of care. This approach minimizes the number of patient visits necessary to achieve optimal outcomes, reducing the overall cost of treatment.
Programs and services include:
Occupational Performance Center
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Occupational Performance Center provides specially developed services geared toward helping employees return to work and meet the demands of employment. The center is staffed by a team of therapists including vocational educators, physical therapists, occupational therapists and ergonomics consultants. This specialized team provides comprehensive therapy for the injured worker as well as workplace injury prevention and consultative services.
Our registered physical therapists specialize in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries with a focus on preparing the employee for a successful re-entry into the workplace. Physical therapy is provided only by licensed, registered physical therapists who allocate sufficient time for each patient’s care. Treatment is based on active participation versus passive therapy. Patients are educated on home exercise and self-treatment, and given specific recommendations for preventing workplace injuries.
Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
Staffed by certified hand therapists, this program provides diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for injuries to the hands, elbows, wrists and arms. Therapists care for patients with injuries related to cumulative trauma syndrome, arthritis, fractures, wound care, overuse syndrome and other conditions.
