Sharp HealthCare Transportation Services

Sharp HealthCare offers free transportation services to senior and disabled patients for non-emergency medical appointments at several Sharp facilities and physician offices.

If you are a senior, disabled, cannot use public transportation and/or have no other means of transportation, you may be eligible for this service. Service is available Monday through Friday, except major holidays. Hours vary at each location.

Transportation is also available for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Centers during these scheduled days and times.

Appointments
Appointments are required and made on a first come, first serve basis. Service is limited and reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance. Same day service may be possible if space is available.

To schedule an appointment or for more information, please call 619-740-4288, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.

When you call, please have the following information ready:

  • Any special needs (use a cane, walker or wheelchair; extra-wide or electric wheelchair; vision or hearing impaired)
  • Date, time and estimated length of appointment
  • Destination and address
  • Your name, address and phone number

No-Shows and Cancellations
Cancellations should be made no later than four hours prior to pickup time. Service may be suspended for excessive no-shows or late cancellations. The rider will be notified of the policy following a no-show or cancellation.

Additional Information
Because routes and riders vary each day, please be ready 30 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time. Drivers are only permitted to wait five minutes past your scheduled pickup time. 

  • Drivers are not permitted to lift wheelchair patients up and down stairs or to enter your home
  • Most vans are wheelchair accessible
  • Personal care attendants, friends and relatives may also ride if space is available
