Helping you keep track of your baby's health
Keeping track of your baby's movement during pregnancy is a great way to ensure your baby's health. A change in your baby's movements may indicate a problem and require medical attention. One of the easiest ways to track your baby's movement is to record the movements you feel on a chart.
Download the Fetal Movement Record and follow the instructions below to start tracking your baby's movement.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and download this file.
Instructions
- Every evening after eating, lie down on your side.
- Mark down the time you feel your baby move for the first time.
- Mark down the time you feel the 10th movement of your baby.
You should feel 10 movements in one hour or less. If your baby does not kick or move 10 times in one hour, this may be an indication that the baby is having a problem and needs further testing. The only way to be certain is to have your baby checked at the hospital. You should immediately go to Triage at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns.
