Justine's Patient Story

Born 84 days early, today Justine is the picture of health. 
Michelle was 28 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to her daughter Justine at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. At just 2 pounds 10 ounces, Justine was taken to Sharp Mary Birch and was placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for four days. She was then moved back to Sharp Grossmont’s NICU while doctors monitored her condition. After spending two months between both hospitals, Justine finally went home with her parents. “The nurses and the doctors at Sharp Grossmont are amazing,” said Michelle. “I felt like I was the only patient in the hospital.”

Today, Justine is the picture of good health. She’s like any other toddler, whether it’s playing with her dolls or being active in her swim class. “She’s a regular, healthy kid,” said Michelle.
