After-Hours Pediatric Care

Sharp Rees-Stealy’s Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine consists of a team of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and staff all ready to serve the needs of your family. Because illnesses and accidents don’t always happen during business hours, we make sure we’re available to assist you after-hours. Below you’ll find contact information and procedures to ensure that your family is taken care of no matter what time of day.

Appointments and Questions
To schedule or cancel an appointment, please call the Sharp Rees-Stealy Patient Contact Center at 858-499-2701 from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, or visit our online Appointment Center.

After-Hours Care
For after-hours appointments, call 858-499-2701 after 2 pm on weekdays and at any time on weekends and holidays. Children are seen by appointment only in the Pediatric After-Hours Clinics in Chula Vista, La Mesa and Mira Mesa during the following times:

Urgent Care
Pediatric and adolescent patients may also be seen on a walk-in basis at any Sharp Rees-Stealy Urgent Care Center for acute illness and injuries. Urgent Care centers are open daily.

Emergencies
Since our facilities are equipped to handle urgent illnesses and injuries, an emergency room visit should only be necessary for life threatening problems. Please contact your pediatrician or the on-call pediatrician before visiting an emergency room.
