A Christmas Story at Sharp Rees-Stealy Outpatient Pavilion

Christmas Gifts for Sharp Rees-Stealy Patient
Opthalmology technicians Heidi Nevin and Misty Lacks presented Christmas gifts to one patient's family.

Christmas came early for a longtime patient at Sharp Rees-Stealy Surgical Eye Consultants at Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion when two ophthalmology technicians showered her and her three great-great-great-grandchildren with gifts at a recent appointment.

Throughout the course of many visits, this longtime patient of Drs. Tommy Korn and Eric Linebarger shared her story with two ophthalmology technicians — Heidi Nevin and Misty Lacks. The two learned that this 94-year-old woman had been struggling to care for her three very active great-great-great-grandchildren, who frequently accompany her on her visits. Nevin and Lacks took it upon themselves to shop for Christmas gifts for the family. Drs. Korn and Linebarger joined in the festivities, and presented the gifts to the family in a joyful — and tearful — celebration. One family member who drove the patient to her appointment was in tears and said that “no one has ever done anything like this for them.”
