Nancy Blaksley, MA, audiologist and speech pathology supervisor, earned her master of arts in audiology from San Diego State University. Her special interests are in diagnostic audiology in adults and older adults and occupational hearing conversation.
How did you choose the field of audiology?
While studying for my bachelor’s degree, I took classes in both speech pathology and audiology. Audiology appealed to my interest in technology as well as patient care so I decided to pursue my master’s degree in audiology.
What do you do in your role at Sharp Rees-Stealy as an audiologist?
My role provides me opportunities to work with patients experiencing hearing loss of various degrees with communication difficulties. They may also have associated hearing concerns of tinnitus or may need guidance in selecting proper hearing protection to prevent potential further damage to their hearing.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Being able to provide The Sharp Experience to each of my patients and their families at each visit.
