Speak to a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Sharp Rees-Stealy patients can now receive free medical advice over the phone and to help determine if a doctor's appointment is necessary. Patients may speak to a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to noon. Simply call 858-499-2600 and select to speak to a health care provider from the menu options.

Seeking Medical Advice After-Hours
When you have a health question or concern after regular business hours, a single phone call puts you in touch with registered nurses who can help you determine the most appropriate treatment. Our Nurse Connection® advice telephone service is available after hours to all Sharp Rees-Stealy patients. To speak to a nurse after hours, call 1-800-767-4277.

Telephone Visits With Your Doctor
Select physicians offer the option of a telephone call for follow-up visits, also known as telehealth or telemedicine visits, for certain medical conditions. These are initiated by the doctor and for patients with HMO coverage; it is the same co-payment as a regular office visit. The next time you see your doctor, ask if your next visit can be a telephone visit.
