Pregnancy and Childbirth Preparation

Congratulations on entering this exciting time in your life. At Sharp, we believe that a healthy pregnancy is a partnership with our patients. We ask our patients to be responsible and actively pursue healthy lifestyle choices for their health and the health of their babies.

Now that you know you are pregnant, please schedule a new obstetrical screening appointment (NOBS) with an obstetrical nurse. At that appointment, the nurse will gather important information about your medical history. You will also receive information about:

  • Childbirth classes offered through Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns
  • Cord blood banking
  • Pamphlets that teach you how to recognize the signs and symptoms of preterm labor — such as having regular contractions before your due date
  • Other valuable information.
