Sharp Rees-Stealy Quality Measures for Checking Patients on Long-Term Medications

What was measured?
What percentage of adults, who are prescribed medications long-term, are tested to check that the ongoing use of the drug is not harming the patient?

These results are based on patient records from the medical group or HMO.

Why is it important?
Patients on medication long-term are at higher risk for health problems from the drugs like harmful side effects or damage due to improper doses. Periodic lab tests are used to check the drug levels in the body and for other signs that a patient’s health is threatened.
