Aquatic Therapy

Sharp Grossmont Rehabilitation Center offers the Aquatics Program for individuals who have a physical disability as a result of stroke, illness or accident. The content of each class varies according to the individual's needs and interests.

Specific exercises are taught, which — with the aid of the water's buoyancy and resistance — can help strengthen muscles, build endurance and improve joint flexibility. Those that are interested in recreational swimming are given instruction on adaptive techniques that are appropriate for their abilities. The class is conducted in a warm water, indoor pool by a certified instructor.

Participants are encouraged to have a family member or attendant assist them in the pool. Participants must be able to dress and handle toilet necessities by themselves or be able to bring their own attendant.

When
Classes run for eight-week sessions and class size is limited, so you must preregister.

Cost
The fee is $40 per session.
