I have always been fascinated by the immune system and curious about how it worked, which led me to specialize in Internal Medicine, and then Allergy and Immunology.
I really enjoy the combination of treating patients, teaching and publishing research that my career has allowed. Drug reactions and drug desensitization are special interests of mine.
In the office and hospital, I test patients for penicillin allergy and evaluate and treat reactions to antibiotics, aspirin, chemotherapy and other medications. In the office, I perform pulmonary function testing and test patients for cat, dog, dust mite, pollen and mold allergy in the evaluation of nasal and sinus symptoms, chronic cough and asthma. Food allergy evaluations may include testing for allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat and other foods.
My goals are to help patients get answers, and to help them feel healthier using natural treatments if possible, and the least amount of medication necessary. My staff and I use current technology, including an electronic health record, patient portal and secure email to keep in touch with patients (in English or Spanish) and to coordinate care with the hospital and other physicians. We encourage patients to reach out if they have any questions.
