With kind-hearted, practical wisdom and amazing state-of-the-art technology, I continually strive to provide an exceptional experience that not only cures the patient, but transforms the whole family. The daughter of one of my patients recently said, “Thank you for everything that you have done for my mom. You have no idea what a positive impact you’ve had on her recovery. You are such a great person and good things will always come your way.” There is no greater joy than not only curing a patient, but also helping to transform a patient’s life and the life of the whole family in such a positive and dramatic fashion. This capacity is deeply rooted in my heritage and is connected to everything I do, from singing, playing guitar and piano, writing songs and leading mindfulness sessions and adventure courses for cancer survivors, to drawing pictures for patients and their families to help explain the nature of a patient’s illness. When this is coupled with 20 years of experience in treating cancer and cancer-related illnesses, the impact is dramatic and powerful. I am fortunate to practice medicine at the Douglas & Nancy Barnhart Cancer Center at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, which combines the beauty of nature, cutting-edge technology and warm, caring staff to create a total healing environment.
I speak some Spanish and have a profound understanding of patients’ diverse cultural backgrounds. It is my greatest desire to serve you and your family in the best way possible.
