Healthy Blood Pressure Podcast

Sally Nacca, an exercise physiologist affiliated with Sharp, explains the importance of normal blood pressure in this Healthy Aging podcast.

Sally NaccaWhat is normal blood pressure?
We used to call normal average blood pressure 120/80 and that’s still okay. However, many doctors and nurses would now like to see slightly lower blood pressures.

What are the symptoms of high blood pressure?
Remember high blood pressure has no symptoms, so many people are walking around with dangerously high blood pressure and don’t know it. This is why this is called "The Silent Killer."

How often should I take my blood pressure?
High blood pressure is determined over a period of time. It’s not necessary to take your blood pressure everyday. Once or twice a week is adequate.
