I guess my mentor saw that I had a knack for leadership and a knack for not being afraid of new things or change and being able to approach it in a way that helps people move through change.

And being a manager I feel is one of the best positions I’ve ever had at Sharp. It … I … it’s exciting because it’s different every day. I can deal directly with people and in a field that I love. And there’s great support staff within the pharmacy system level as well as we work very closely with nursing and other disciplines and all my other colleagues in pharmacy and outside of pharmacy.

The Sharp Experience definitely is a culture because it’s beyond how we treat each other but it’s a lot of it just … just treating each other with respect and remembering to work as a team and all the core behavior standards that we … we live by.

But I think what it also brought was just a warm culture across the board whether you’re a pharmacist or a pharmacy technician or a nurse or any profession in health care. There’s no way you can be a lone wolf and do it alone. You … you need each other. We need more than just pharmacists. We need the nurses. We need the physicians. We need the social worker. We need everybody that is … is part of the team in order to provide the best care possible.

I don’t feel like I’m just an employee number. I matter.
