Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion's Imaging Center offers Selenia™ digital mammography for women undergoing routine mammograms. The state-of-the-art technology uses computers and specially designed digital detectors to help detect small calcifications, masses and other changes that could be signs of early breast cancer. The advantages of this technology include less radiation exposure to patients, improved diagnostic accuracy and reduced need for repeat exams. Each year, more than 14,000 digital mammograms (screenings, diagnostics and other mammogram-related procedures) are performed at Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion.
