Personalized treatment programs that work.
Total abstinence from alcohol and mood-altering drugs is the goal for all of our patients. Although patients must eventually take responsibility for their long-term recovery, Sharp Vista Pacifica provides a blueprint for developing a sober lifestyle.
Upon admission to the program, each individual is interviewed by an experienced professional and medically assessed to determine the extent of dependency. Based on the assessment a treatment program is recommended. A description of each program is listed below.
Inpatient Treatment
The Inpatient Treatment Program consists of medically monitored detoxification and/or rehabilitation and is designed to stabilize and educate patients recovering from alcoholism and other drug dependencies. Treatment consists of chemical dependency education, individual, group and family counseling, therapeutic activities, family workshops and self-help groups such as Self Management and Recovery Training (SMART), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Cocaine Anonymous (CA). Each patient follows an individualized treatment plan under medical supervision.
Extended Residential Program
The Extended Residential Program is designed for individuals who require inpatient treatment for 30 days or longer. Treatment is centered around 12-step and cognitive behavioral approaches which assist the individual in developing long-term sober living skills. The program is custom tailored to each person’s needs and is especially effective for individuals who have been exposed to chemical dependency treatment in the past. Relapse prevention strategies are presented throughout this program.
Day Hospital/Partial Hospitalization
The Day Hospital Program is designed for individuals who do not need 24-hour supervision, but are still in need of intensive treatment. Participants spend the day or half-day at the facility attending all aspects of the program. Many patients begin in the inpatient program and are later transferred to Day Hospital.
Evening Chemical Dependency Recovery Program
The Evening Chemical Dependency Recovery Program consists of four to six weeks of three evening per week of treatment. Sessions are three to four hours in duration. Patients participate in group therapy, educational lectures and workshops and are introduced to SMART, AA, NA, CA and other community resources to support long-term recovery. Individual and family sessions are also scheduled during the program as needed. The family program and unlimited continuing care (aftercare) are included in this treatment.
Dual Recovery Program
The Dual Recovery Program is designed for adults who have a psychiatric illness and a substance-use disorder. The program uses an integrated approach to help patients develop the functional skills they need to cope with these problems.
