What happened to Sharp's Speaking of Women's Health event? Is the Sharp Women's Health Conference a new event? 
Sharp HealthCare has been presenting an annual health conference to the women of San Diego for more than 20 years. During this period, Sharp has partnered at times with other nonprofits to produce the conference, which resulted in several different names for the event. Today, Sharp is once again the sole producer of the event, now called the Sharp Women’s Health Conference.

How can I purchase tickets to the conference and where do I pick them up? 
Tickets to the conference can be purchased by calling 1-800-82-SHARP (1-800-827-4277), Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, or online at Sharp Women's Health Conference. Tickets will be mailed to you two to three weeks prior to the conference.

What is the minimum age of attendees? 
All attendees must be at least 16 years of age.

Will I have to register the day of the conference if I already have my ticket? 
Yes, there will be a registration table for all attendees to check-in on the day of the conference. That is where you will also be given a program and your free gift bag valued at more than $250.

If I cannot make it to the conference can I get a refund?
Yes, you may request a full refund if you contact 1-800-82-SHARP (1-800-827-4277), Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm, by Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.

If I can’t make it to the conference can someone go in my place?
Yes, you will be able to have someone go in your place as long as they present your badge at registration on the day of the conference. A new badge will be issued at that time.

Is there a limit to the number of health screenings that I can do? 
You can participate in as many health screenings as you would like provided that you have enough time.

If I can’t attend the event but already paid for my ticket, can you mail me my gift bag? 
In order to receive your gift bag, you must be present on the day of the conference.

Will lunch be provided?
Yes, all guests in attendance will receive a gourmet lunch and a continental breakfast.

Is there assigned seating? 
There will be open seating unless there is a “reserved” sign on the table.

Can I leave early if I want to or do I have to stay until the conference ends? 
You are not obligated to be at the conference all day, but we recommend you do stay for the final keynote speaker and the exciting opportunity drawing at the end of the day.

Do I have to be a member of Sharp HealthCare in order to attend the conference? 
The Sharp Women’s Health Conference is open for all women who are interested in learning about their health and well being.

Do I still have to pay for lunch if I only want to attend the breakout sessions? 
The price of admission includes educational breakout sessions on women’s health topics, a continental breakfast, gourmet lunch, a variety of health screenings and assessments, local and national exhibitors, ask-the-doctor and ask-the-pharmacist segments and an opportunity drawing with outstanding prizes. We cannot sell tickets for individual activities.

Will there be Spanish-language simultaneous interpretation and bilingual materials at this year's conference?  
For the past 20 years, Sharp HealthCare has been offering conferences to the women of San Diego to empower them to make lifestyle changes to improve their own health and well being, as well as that of their families. In the recent past, we have also offered these conferences in Spanish, and last year we presented a bilingual event.

Earlier this year, Sharp was a sponsor of ¡Celebrando!, a new Spanish-language health and beauty conference presented by El Latino newspaper. Sharp provided free health screenings and guest speakers at ¡Celebrando!, which proved to be a successful event for the Latina community, and we look forward to participating again next year. As a result, the Sharp Women's Health Conference will be presented Oct. 6, 2012, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, but without Spanish-language simultaneous interpretation or bilingual materials.
